What are the classic behaviors of alcoholics?
- A person cannot control his drinking, no matter how many attempts he has made to stop and stay sober.
- There is an increasing dependence and tolerance of alcohol ingestion.
- Denial. A person fails to recognize and acknowledge that he or she is experiencing alcoholism.
- Blaming others for the problems they now experience.
- Important things are neglected.
- Friends and families are avoided.
- Aggressive and destructive behaviors occur.
- Physical symptoms manifest like: stomach upset, vomiting, hand tremors, hangovers, and blackouts.
- Neurologic symptoms manifest like shakes or tremors when experiencing withdrawal or when he can’t have a drink, hallucination or delirium tremors.
- Drinking starts out early in the day as soon as a person wakes up.
